The Value of Training and Support

As an established manufacturer and preferred supplier to the material handling industry for over 30 years we are very proud of our ongoing business partnerships with the lift truck dealers of North America. As mentioned, we understand that the core deliverables of any material handling dealership are the delivery of the vehicle and the service that follows the life cycle of that vehicle. The material handling industry is widespread and ever changing in its requirement for solutions to challenges outside of vehicles and service alone – that’s where we come in. With over 200 software and hardware combinations to meet those challenges it is a daunting task for any dealer rep to be an expert on SkidWeighTechnology. Beyond manufacturing one of the largest components of our job is to provide best in class training and support. We are knowledgeable in not only the development and production of the technology we produce but its integration into the end user’s applications and the solutions they provide.

Getting You Up To Speed Quickly and Effectively

Three main areas that concentrate our training support efforts with dealer is the following.

1. Inside an Outside Sales Representation

Sales personnel do not get requests for our products every day and most of those requests come directly from the customer themselves looking for a suitable solution. We provide training to both machine and parts and service salespeople generally through sales meetings and planned visits. Focusing on delivering an in-depth look at our entire product suite the goal is to relate the product more importantly to the solution that benefits the dealer’s customer. The valuable takeaway for the salespeople is not to know the products inside and out – but to know who to call when the customer asks.

Webex: One use of technology that is really becoming quite popular is the use of on-line meeting software like, Teams, Cisco and Zoom. The ability to reach all over the planet inexpensive and effectively is a fantastic way to train and support.

2. The End User a.k.a. the Customer

A good number of our valued dealers will also bring us into to train their customer direct both before the sale and after. This allows the dealer sales rep to connect their customer directly with the manufacturing support team. We do not sell direct to end users and only transact with dealers – therefore no conflict of interest and a true support partnership.

3. Service When You Need It Most

For the technicians who install and the service IVDT product we have your back. We understand that the service department is all about billable hours and time efficiency. Therefore, training is often specific, technical and on the fly. When a tech is in the field and runs into a problem then require assistance immediately to get that work order back on track. Our 12 hour North American service line always has live support to assist in all technical matters with respect to our products. The average call takes less that 7 minutes, it’s free and in most cases is all that is required to complete the job.
