DAILY LIFT TRUCK
OPERATIONAL ACTIVITY

FeedBack: Vehicle Safety and Uptime

As a material handling dealer, the ability to provide your customers with solutions is what your business is all about. At first it may seem that the ability to provide quality material handling equipment and vehicles to your customer by way of forklifts, walkies, aerial lifts and accessories is at the forefront and even more important to provide timely and cost-effective service of that equipment. Absolutely this is the pillar of any great dealership.

However, all businesses with material handling equipment require solutions that are harder to find. From one lift truck to fleets of 100 business want to address OSHA safety requirements and maximize vehicle and fleet productivity and efficiency. Fleet productivity is the single largest cost that any business can face while at the same time control. The problem with current systems is that they are complex in hardware requirement with proprietary connections to vehicle ECU and even more cumbersome with cloud-based software user portals that require monthly fees. Difficult for medium to small companies to justify the cost and monthly contingency.

The output is more about vehicle performance than actual production factors impacting the business. Key hours vs. pedal hours including lifting time along with mechanical downtime would require operation engineers to make assumptions that may or may not impact the P&L. Those color graphs and pie charts that look great on a computer screen in the office are historical data that just don’t provide change initiative because its historical in reference. Who has the time to create reports on reports?

IVDT has a tool that can benefit any business that is looking for answers about daily vehicle activity. IVDT’s onboard vehicle activity system FeedBack is a simple system that is designed to provide 2 things that every business needs. 100% OSHA safety compliance and real information about vehicle usage, in the moment as it happens. With 5 wires the system is simple to install, does not interrupt the vehicles starting ability so there is no complicated install or unnecessary disruption to the business. As an activity recorder it stores data on completed OSHA safeties, daily, rolling eight or continental and gaps in vehicle usage.

Once introduced into the application the system will provides data on vehicle usage clearly defining gaps and making them available in real time for the operator to acknowledge and or act upon. The system can also be set up to acknowledge specific root causes for vehicle downtime and record the time of non-operation. The system also has a strobe that when illuminated indicates the vehicle is non-compliant either without a completed safety check or an unrecognized and or acceptable break in productivity. The data once recorded is available to download in a practical excel form with clear indication of when it happened, for how long and exactly what happened. This provides businesses with data immediately on vehicle usage and with clear visibility to those interruptions in the productivity cycle that need to be addressed.

FeedBack also offers additional options such as impact acknowledgement and forklift weighing options including overload Audio / Visual alert notifications. Easy to install on any material handling vehicle regardless of make, model or operational voltage (Range 12 to 55 V DC), FeedBack provides valuable input immediately.
