Accumulative Totaling
(AT) forklift Scale Versatility

For years the SkidWeigh ED2-AT was the material handling industries most accepted solution for forklift weighing. The ED2-AT with the accumulative totaling option provides businesses with the ability to not only weigh loads within seconds but to record an ongoing weight total with the simple push of a button. This no charge option saves valuable production time in that operators can eliminate the need to record each weight lifted and weighed, then calculate the total and write it down. The (AT) function does that for you with accuracy and mistake free. The next generation SkidWeigh Classic SC2 is now the industry standard featuring the same productivity enhancing (AT) function but also with overload notification as a standard option ensuring that safety remains a priority in all businesses who benefit from a forklift scale. Working with all OEM’s, dealers and thousands of businesses throughout North America we would like to summarize the top 5 applications that your customers can benefit from an SC2 forklift scale with the (AT) function.

NON-VEHICLE OVERLOADING

As mentioned, the SC2 comes standard with overload notification. This protects the operator from lifting beyond the vehicle’s capacity rating. However, forklifts lift a wide variety of loads and place those individual loads on support structures or transport vehicles such as racking or flat-bed or container trucks. These structures and vehicles will support and carry multiple loads each with a weight integrity rating. The (AT) function allows the operator with certainty and speed to ensure that capacity ratings for each are respected ensuring to avoid unsafe conditions and in the case of transport vehicles roadside inspections penalties as well.

INVENTORY

Another very common usage for the (AT) function is the designation of load inventory and its overall weight. The ability to weigh multiple loads of the same SKU’s saves a tremendous amount of time in both product movement to find a stationary scale and the effort required to record and add the multiple loads accumulative weight. Almost all manufacturing-based businesses benefit from this option. For example, not for profit organizations that reallocate donated product must account for inventory in a non-monetary record which is weight.

RECYCLING AND SCRAP

Almost all businesses look to recover soft costs as another source of revenue towards the P&L. Metals, plastics, fiberboard and the thousands of variations of the core recyclables mentioned above have a collections and reprocessing market. The ability to weigh these loads on a forklift and add the bulk shipments provides a huge and fast R.O.I. for all businesses that put a forklift scale to work.

CHECK WEIGHING

Businesses receive multiple shipments arranged on the same shipping waybill. Unloading a truck or several trucks for those at bay is an operation where time is of the essence. The ability to weigh and add a load right at the point of pick up in seconds is a time saver that earns back money for the company. The ability to check the load with one lift and move it directly to the staging area increases overall businesses efficiency for those applications that utilize a forklift scale. An example is the fast-paced LTL industry checking multiple loads on the dock. There is no time to check each load via a floor scale. The alternative is to weigh on a floor scales which creates additional product travel and increases time all around. The other option is to simply not check against the waybill at all creating leakage vulnerability.

COMPOUND LOAD BUILDING

We see a lot of business not just manufacturing but agriculture, not for profit and recycling that build finished or complete loads in a process of adding materials to the final count. Often in a tote or a bin the (AT) function allows those businesses to move the load to various filling areas or augers to add material with the push of a button. This again saves time as the operator can concentrate on the accumulation of product at the source eliminating the need to find a stationary scale.
