MOBILE WEIGHING WITH PRINT RECEIPTS WITH THE SKIDWEIGH PLUS ED3-EP
It is not surprising that one of the largest segments of material handling vehicles is class III electric pallet trucks. Approximately 30% of all lift trucks sold are pallet jacks which provide both functional and practical solutions for users. They are relatively inexpensive compared to other sit-down or standup vehicles and have ability to travel which provides mobile weighing opportunities. Often is the case that when a scale is utilized on an electric pallet truck a receipt or print ticket is required to provide verification of the load lifted. That’s where the SkidWeigh Plus ED3-EP can really add value to those businesses that need to weigh on the go or at point of drop off. Two very common examples of this are as follows.
1) Food Banks: When food is received either at the food bank and or picked up it is always weighed and most of the time it is with an electric pallet truck. Inventory and governance require that all received donations be weighed and recorded. Clipboards and paper are problematic and can lead to errors. The simple addition of a SkidWeigh Plus ED3-EP with a printer allows these organizations to eliminate a floor scale altogether and with the printer a receipt ticket is an actual record.
2) Scrap Pickup: There are quite a few businesses that utilize electric walkies to pick up commodity materteral with scrap value. For example, companies will recycle industrial batteries and pay value on the pound for the metal components in the battery. They will use the walkie with the SkidWeigh Plus ED3-EP to weigh the batteries to be received at the sight of pick up and provide a print ticket for purposes of payment.
The SkidWeigh Plus ED series scale is the only system on the market that has ability to integrate data and load identification with a number of different input/outputs. Print systems range from 3” thermal print receipts to labels that can include barcodes for purposes of inventory.
In addition, the SkidWeigh Plus with the Bluetooth module pairs with a number of different scanner options to eliminate the operator pushing buttons and ensuring that all loads are accounted for and received. The system also utilizes a USB port for data extraction either as a record itself or backup.
The SkidWeigh Plus ED series even has ability to connect to an information gateway that allows businesses to access data on their network without the need to visit the vehicle. Automatic information uploads with the use of InfoHUBX cut time and valuable steps to get critical data to the right people regardless of location. Not just for electric walkies the system will retrofit on any material handling vehicle as it uses IVDT’s hydraulic pressure transducer technology along with proprietary software provide the most consistent and reliable accuracy on the market. Trusted for decades by OEM’s, forklift dealers and ultimately end-users the system installs in approximately 2 hours and is ready to go to work.
